About the Book

The Book “ Information generation and Its Use by the Scientists Working in Agricultural generation and Its Use by the Scientists Working in Agricultural Institutes” dealt exhaustively about “Information” in general and “Agricultural Information” in particular. It provides panoramic view of agricultural information, its nature, generation and use by agricultural scientists. The impact of different important factors like Cadres, Age, sex, educational qualification, Professional training, Working environment, Work experience, Discipline of research, First appointment, and Membership to scientific societies/association etc of agricultural scientists over theirs information productivity and use of information have been studied in depth and presented in lucid manners.

The whole book is spanned in five chapters. While the chapter 1st and 2nd are devoted to conceptual aspects of information generation and use in the Science of agriculture, chapter 3rd described the objectives and methodology. Chapter 4th presents the data analysis and findings in details with tables and graphs, the 5th and final chapter covers summary and conclusions of the study. Besides, a bibliography on the subject of study is also provided for further reading and reference.

About the Author

Mani Sharma f="/books/rakesh-mani-sharma" Title="rakesh-mani-sharma">Rakesh Mani Sharma (born on 1st Oct 1967) did his Ph. D. (Library & Information Science) in 2005 from Utkal University, Bhubaneshwar. He has an excellent academic record with all through first divisions. After completing B. Sc. in Agriculture Science from Gorakhpur university, he joined Bachelor degree course of Library Information science at Banaras Hindu university, Varanasi and subsequently completed his master degree in Library & Information Science with first division first and BHU Gold medal from the same university. He started his professional career from central Potato research Institute (CPRI) campus, Modipuram, Meerut (U. P. ) in 1990 and authored two research papers in professional journals of repute. Dr. Sharma has participated in several conference/seminars and has also attended good number of professional trainings/workshops etc. he is a life member of SALIS (Society for Advancement of Library and Information Science) and IPA (Indian Potato Association). Presently dr. Sharma is a Technical Officer (Librarian) and Incharge of Library & Documentation Services at CPRI, Shimla.
